Oromin Buyout soon?
I spoke to one of the 2 main brokers in vancouver behind OLE at the weekend and was able to confirm there are 2 interested parties that have been on site
he feels it will be done sooner rather than later

Terange to Double reserves, Oromin mentioned… This bodes well for increased discoveries on OLE’s property.

Teranga Gold Corporation: Exploration on the Mine License Produces 131 Metres at 3.45gpt Gold and 87 Metres at 3.11gpt Gold
TORONTO, ONTARIO–(Marketwire – Nov. 2, 2011) – Teranga Gold Corporation (TSX:TGZ)(ASX:TGZ) (“Teranga” or “the Company”) is pleased to provide an update of its Mine License and Regional Exploration programs through the September quarter of 2011.
Highlights:
/T/
— Exploration at the Sabodala Pit confirms the potential for higher grades
in an expanded pit to depth and to the north – drilling intersected
significant widths of high grade mineralization, including hole SBDH141D
of 131 metres at 3.45 grams of gold per tonne (“gpt”) and SBDH143D of 87
metres at 3.11 gpt included in four mineralized zones, on the Main Flat
Extension just outside the current pit design – the new high grade zones
remain open down plunge and to the northwest. These grades are twice the
current average reserve grade of 1.5gpt at Sabodala.
— Exploration drilling at Masato confirms the extension of the Masato
deposit from the neighbouring property onto the Sabodala Mining Licence
– including hole SMRC051D of 49 metres at 3.59 gpt in two mineralized
zones and hole SMRC055D of 64 metres at 2.45 gpt in three mineralized
zones – with significant potential for further upside as the deposit
remains open at depth and along strike.
— High-grade drill intersections at Gora continue to expand the potential
footprint of the deposit. The deposit remains open in all directions.
— Additional high-grade drilling results were received from a second
regional deposit at Toumboumba.
— Teranga plans to update reserves and resources at year end.

“We are very encouraged by both the high grades and significant widths of mineralization seen in our recent drill results on the Mine License. These results make us very confident that we will be able to double our reserves on the Mine License in 2012. Our regional exploration program is also returning very encouraging results, which we hope will set us up for a discovery over the next 12 months,” said Mr. Alan R. Hill, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
Mine License Exploration – Figure 2
Exploration results in 2011 support management’s belief of the potential to expand proven and probable reserves from 1.5 million ounces of gold to 3 million ounces of gold, at similar or better grade to the current reserve (1.5gpt) from the Sabodala Mining License (“ML”) over the next 12 to 18 months. The larger reserve base is expected to result from the success of deepening the Sabodala pit to the north along the Main Flat Extension, extension of the Masato pit onto the ML, conversion of Niakafiri resources to reserves as well as adding reserves below these three large open pits. On the ML alone, this would increase the mine life to approximately 15 years at a run rate of about 200,000 ounces of gold produced annually and provide a solid production base to build on through the Regional Exploration Program. In order to increase reserves on the ML a minimum of 5 drill rigs will be testing new targets as well as converting existing resources to reserves at an estimated cost of $10 million in 2011 and at least an additional $10 million in 2012(1).
(1) While management has confidence in its projections based on exploration work done to date, the potential quantity and grade disclosed herein is conceptual in nature, and there has been insufficient exploration to define a mineral resource, therefore it is uncertain if further exploration will result in the targets being delineated as a mineral resource.
Highlights of drilling during the September quarter on the ML include the intersection of significant widths of high grade mineralization outside the Sabodala ultimate pit limit as part of the Main Flat Extension drill program which is expected to lead to an expansion of the final pit design and increased reserves, as well as the successful intersection and extension of the Masato deposit down dip 200 metres onto the ML.
During the September quarter Reverse Circulation (“RC”) and Diamond drilling (“DD”) on the ML totalled 13,000 metres from 5 drills. There are 7 drills operating on the ML at the present time (6 DD and 1 RC) and pending rig availability this number may increase to expedite resource expansion and reserve definition drilling through the December quarter and into 2012.

IamGold seems liek one of the most aggressive Gold companies going today. Thier new CEO is all over the Globe. Dealing w/ China, just bought 2 JR’s in Columbia, and strengthening foothold in WAfrica. (IF) they buy Ole, they will consolodate Teranga and have a huge Gold Project w/ maybe 20 mil Oz gold. It could be a big time stock to own as they become a Large Tier Producer.I think theyre the same size now as Rangold. But do ahve 350 mil shareholders too.
who’s it gonna be ??…. IamGold, Rangold, Harmony, Semafo, Perseus, Centamin, Agnico, Teranga, GoldFields,
Aurico,Eldorado. ….Pick 2.
I did call IamGold, and they wont comment, and Ole’s HQ wont comment either. Something;s gotta be Up. I just hope its WAy UP.
Why no buying interest on any front if this is so imminent ? Huge question, this stock is an investors worst nightmare, I feel for those who bough from me years back during their ” oil phase”, so glad I dumped this crud for Newstrike back when ole was $1.04 and Newstrike was $1.73……..this stock is soooo sick
Dale…. cant agree more w/ you. BigTime NiteMare…. i think everyone is just soooo sick of it. Even the Brokers hate it, and want it Gone. The ones i speak w/ hate it…. partly b/c it just wont go away…. and lets face it,,,, they dont Like Chet either. Thats what i’m hearing.
Many who have done his GD PP’s have to look their Clients in the face now when it’s at 89 cents, (who last bought at 1.30 is a bigger joke) and do some “splaining”. Welll they’re out of Escuses, and so is Chet. I hear Chet cant go to Bay Street anymore to talk w/ Brokers. he’s a bit of a Joke. But ehs gonna be a joker that made $30 mil ++ when this deal is over year end.
Caliche – What is ORT and AAM?
Caliche – I put both symbols in the TMX and found out who these companies are. Which do you like most?
For those of us in the US the symbol for ORT is EORBF and AAM is ATAAF.
To all. You have to read the article by Rick Ackerman’s article on “why gold exploration stocks are primed to explode” at goldseek.com.
Hi Mallard,
i like both AAM and ORT, we took starter positions in both yesterday and added some to the AAM today simply because the depth is so thin on the sell side.. i think ORT has just had a release of stock from a financing so liquidity should be pretty good there for a week or so
AAM is the red back mining guys and we all know that they did ok last time..i will usually side with lundin but ORT seems to have a game changing patent on a new alumina source..its not in the bag yet but after the feas the project will be significantly de risked.. i just dont know how long the co will be around after that.. so i am taking a small position now.. im glad for the drop and will be looking to add more 2.50 ish
tax question:
Do you guys wait 30 days to buy back tax loss sell stocks? Or do you buy them in a wife or kid’s account the same day? I am trying to figure out the best route. Thanks for the input.
CS, (in Canada) no one in your family is allowed to “buy back” your tax loss stocks until 30 days….
generally not a warm fuzzy feeling when Dave Scott is avoiding your calls and emails….
I know he has an Iphone and is getting my emails and 6 phone calls and “just out of the office for 10 minutes” …..
he’s probably thinking of how to word the next release of granting the board 20 million options at $.50…
I think the shareholders need to start making some noise. This “Blackout” period has gone on too long…
Top:
FYI, you and I pay for that Iphone bill. I am not sure why anyone would ever hire DS for IR other than Chet probably likes the fact that he bends over for him…
G1
DS….hmmm nice initials…when you deal with money, somebody’s always willing to catch…..sad, but true.
Hey DS, make sure you release something good in the next 30 days, I’m considering selling the shares for a nice tax loss…thanks for that by the way 🙂
called the Co and asked for DS. he was not available ( da) and i got someone else. They dont say much, but got the impression that soemthings gonna happen soon like b4 year end.
No Thanksgiving celebration?
With the lack of any movement since the rumors started, I’m beginning to think all this talk about a buy-out by EOY is just BS on which no one is biting. Just some people trying to get a boost in price to get out. Not necessarily anyone on this board, but maybe those a lot higher up on the food chain than us.
But I’ll be happy to be proven wrong… Finally!

Dark period – yeah, ok. Black Hole period – not so OK.
News out, but not the news I was looking for…

Oromin Explorations Ltd.: OJVG Identifies Additional New Gold Discoveries to Compliment Existing Deposit Resources
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Nov 16, 2011 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) — Oromin Explorations Ltd. (“Oromin”) CA:OLE -1.14% OLEPF +2.27% , on behalf of Oromin Joint Venture Group Ltd. (“OJVG”), is pleased to provide an exploration progress update for the OJVG Gold Project in Senegal, West Africa.
OJVG is continuing to examine financing, development and strategic alternatives to build value for Oromin and its partners in OJVG, Bendon International and Badr Investment & Finance, as it continues with its successful exploration of the Project.
Currently, the OJVG Gold Project hosts eight gold deposits which collectively contain Indicated Resources of 3.31 million ounces, and Inferred Resources of 0.43 million ounces, summarized in detail on page 4 of this News Release. All eight of the current OJVG Gold deposits remain open to considerable lateral and depth expansion, in part demonstrated by the successful deep drilling program completed earlier this year at the Golouma deposit (refer to Oromin News Release of July 14, 2011).
In addition to the eight deposits, ongoing exploration has successfully identified the following ten further high-priority targets and new discoveries, (shown on the accompanying plan map):
Cal,
What do you think would happen to gold if the States eliminated the Federal Reserve and endorsed the idea of competing currencies where people could opt out of using federal reserve notes and conduct business in gold-backed notes and precious metal coins instead?
