NEWSTRIKE CAPITAL GRANTS STOCK OPTIONS

Newstrike Capital Inc. has granted a total of 1.7 million stock options pursuant to its stock option plan. Each option will entitle the holder to purchase one common share of the company at an exercise price of 53 cents for a period of five years from this date. Of the total amount, 1.5 million options will go to directors and officers of the company, and will vest immediately, while the remaining 200,000 are granted to consultants and will vest in three months from this date.

The grant is subject to regulatory approvals, and any securities issued pursuant to the exercise of these options will be restricted from trading for a period of four months from this date as required by TSX Venture Exchange Policies and securities legislation.

The company has appointed Ashish (Ash) Abhyankar as vice-president of finance. Mr. Abhyankar will assist the chief executive officer and chief financial officer with financial planning and related activities.

Ash is a Senior Consultant for Promaintech Novaxa, a division of Fujitsu and is responsible Business Development and Lean Six Sigma initiatives in Western Canada. He has held leadership positions across Canada and the U.S. in general/ financial management, engineering, technology & telecom solutions, business development, consulting services and operations with IBM, AT&T, Unitel, Burntsand Inc, ecmarket.com, Teldon International and AirCare during the past 40+ years. He is passionate about the role of Internet and World Wide Web, via the Technology and Telecom cloud, in helping improve the education, lifestyle and well-being of our global society.
Ash is an active and visible community leader with strong relationships in private and public sector markets across Canada. He has been an active volunteer for various charitable and not-for-profit organizations in western Canada for the past 25+ years. Ash was part of the team that formed Information Technology Association of Canada and British Columbia Technology Industry Association organizations during the 1980’s. He currently serves as Chair of the Mentoring Committee for the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C., is active with the Vancouver Board of Trade and has served on Canada’s Association of Information Technology Professionals, United Way and West Vancouver Police Boards.

Ash’s background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (1965), Master of Science in Mechanical and Control Engineering from University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon (1967) and Advance Executive Management Program Certificate from Harvard University and IBM (1981).
