Something is afoot!!
gold was kicked down hard today as the us dollar gained .. but it looks like gold is on its way back curently at 997.25 and the dollar looks to have peaked
i was looking through some old watch lists ans noticed MDL was at .95 aus.. WOW thats 500 million market cap ..with ole at 85 million and from what i remember MDL doesnt have that many more ounces than we do ..
the next thing i did was look at the volumes in canada on MDL .. nearly 30 million shares in the last few weeks!
anyone look familiar!
Toll Cross did the ole financing..
GMP .. high net worth brokerage in NA and europe.. HQ in london ..chet and the boys are in london Toll Cross taking them on a promo tour..hmmm
toll cross buying 3 million shares and GMP taking 25 million..
i say again … something is afoot.. bids on ole look better than they have ever 80000 shares bid at .80..
could we be on the eve of a move up .. i think so!

Caliche,
How long ago was that for MDL? How long did this process take for them? I know ours is different, I’d just like to know.
Also, can you talk more about this bids? I noticed several “major” firms buying. Does that mean anything? Or is that typical?
Thanks for all you do,

Hi,
What does everyone here think about the baystreet research report from a little while ago (from the 11th)?
I mean, I was reading it again just now and thinking to myself, this Oromin has been really underperforming but at some time there must come an end to that.
Of interest to me was the following from the pdf, and in particular the comments. I hadn’t noticed that before and I have to admit I do not keep up with Oromin as well as others (go figure) but,…seems like I can read from here that Oromin had to release something which they knew was undervalued and not reflecting what they really had. So the new mineralization was not included but that will come in time.
Therefore, this thing is bound to go up?? If I study the chart then there is already a small change in trend appearing as if Oromin was about to do a reversal from its downward path to moving upwards. Its close above the 10 moving average is atleast hopefull, we can’t remain negative all the time. Overall, this stock to me is still considered to be in a downtrend but feels to me that this is changing or atleast about to change. MACD could be near to doing a bullish center crossover which is not bullish….but very bullish near term.
I’m a chartist but I also do look at their financial situation and their activities and I also have been longer holder in this stock. Caliche can confirm that!
If there is the interest for me to do a review every now and then let me know and I’ll see what I can do. I am however already blogging about Orko Silver so doing a chart review on Oromin will then mainly be an on the side thing and only if their is sufficient interest. Most guys I’ve read here already know their stuff so maybe a show of hands is in order. Don’t really know all the experiences here, some I think I do however.
From the ARTICLE :
http://www.baystreet.ca/articles/research_reports/eresearch/OLE_091109-B.pdf
Outlook Through Q2/10
•Oromin’s focus from now until the second quarter of 2010 is resource expansion and the completion of optimization studies for a revised prefeasibility study.
•Drilling will continue, with the inclusion of higher-grade gold targets (including Epsilon, Golouma Northwest, Cloverleaf and Kobokoto).
•Drilling of higher-grade down-dip extensions of current Indicated Resources at the Kerekounda, Golouma West and South deposits to determine the full extent of the mineralization as potential new underground mineable reserves.
COMMENT: While at first blush the preliminary feasibility study (PFS) appears disappointing, it should be stressed that the timing of its completion was dictated by the timing of OJVG’s licence renewal obligations with the Government of Senegal. Accordingly, timing did not permit the inclusion of new mineralization or most of the usual optimization studies to be carried out subsequent to the initial economic evaluation. What was most encouraging from the PFS was the improvement in the quality of the resource from Inferred to Indicated. Further resource drilling, inclusion of the new higher -grade discoveries, and higher-grade extensions of the known deposits and optimization studies towards a revised PFS in Q2/10, are the focus of OJVG’s current program.
MDL….
From my post on “Hotcopper” last week
27 Million shares traded now on the TSX in the last 9 days…..,
32 million on the ASX since this run started on September 3….
something definitely happening and no news…..
Note GMP are closely linked in with Macquarie….the analyst coverage link on the GMP site gives that away….and Macquarie are one of the main backers behind MDL…..
Good research Caliche, lets see what unfolds.
Hi kw
major firms are buying oromin and MDL in Toronto and Australia.. mdl and ole will be one.. i see the same firms buying both.. my guess is oromin will make a run at MDL .. the project economics are there we have the oxides and the blue sky ounces they have the plant.. they need oxides and we need a plant.. hhmmm
Caliche,
Thanks for the update. ” my guess is oromin will make a run at MDL .. ” So just to make sure I’m understanding right. You think (I know this is hypothetical) that oromin might buy MDL? We don’t have the money for that do we? I would agree that the combination seems to make the most sense, just was caught that oromin might be in a position to purchase MDL and not vice versa.
Thanks again Caliche – I really do appreciate your help and insights.
