Holdings Update
The last 4 weeks have seen a large move upwards in the leaders of the venture exchange. The first movers have been the stocks with cash, with a viable project, and capable management. Newstrike has had a very nice month indeed moving to a high of 2.69 from a low of 1.29 only weeks before. We are holding all of our shares in anticipation of further gains on the news of Torex raising 350 million for production financing. We believe they have effectively taken themselves off the block and will produce. I speculate funds will flow from TXG to NES in anticipation of a takeover bid.
Our second largest holding by value (first by share count) Calyx has been quietly getting their ducks in a row with their subsidiary Agrisoma preparing for a flight test (with the us Air force) using 100% bio fuel, a first in aviation history. They are working towards increasing their ownership in Agrisoma.. no news on that front yet. IMHO the stock will jump if and when that is completed
Sirocco, (ex Atacama) now controlled by the team that ran Red Back is listing on the senior board with over 72 million in cash they are in a great position to make a strategic acquisition. If not they are making piles of cash with their current iodine mine in Chile!
Oromin today announced an increase to their resources of 49%. Oromin was one of our early picks and we still follow developments as they occur. We have swapped the vast majority of our position in OLE for NES and CYX.. We are still hopeful for a transaction to occur but with no drilling and a scant treasury an equity raise is a distinct possibility..
Gold continues to spike ever higher before retracing..IMHO we will see new highs before year end in nominal and real terms..
