Newstrike Drill Update!

On Oct 13th, 2010, the company announced that it had begun drilling at Ana Paula using one drill rig. The drilling contract is awarded to Major Drilling de Mexico S.A. de C.V. This initial drill program is the first step in testing a 2.0 by 1.0 kilometre (km) wide area of anomalous gold geochemistry previously identified in outcrop by Goldcorp, and that remains open along strike and at depth. The scope of the drill program provides for a minimum 5,000 meters to test a 400m by 600m portion of this anomalous area previously drill tested by Goldcorp in 2005. The drill program conforms to recommendations contained in the NI-43-101 technical report dated June 26th, 2010 by Mr. Robert Lunceford, CPG, MSc. The 2010 drill program objectives include: confirming previous drill results through twinning; completing a series of drill holes to assist with project optimization and future drill planning; complete step out drill holes to extend the strike length of the known mineralization and; improve the confidence of the known mineralization through a series of infill drill holes. A second drill rig was mobilised to the project on December 1st, 2010 and, as of December 09, 2010, assays were pending from 1526 samples of drill cuttings, including control samples. The remaining core splits are pending shipment to ALS Chemex and to SGS at the time of writing. By December 15th, when drill crews broke for the holiday season, a total of 4,530 meters were completed in 12 HQ drill holes. The first phase exploration program is expected to be completed before the end of January 2011. Following that, the company intends to extend the current drill program of step out and infill drill holes throughout 2011.
