I called the office
but was unable to talk to anyone. I left a message to get back to me and i think they will either tomorrow or thurdsay. Im sure they were pretty busy
from my previous conversations with them they want to take another look with seismic and determine if there is a possibility of another structural trap, looking at the map , either off crest or up against a fault zone to the south west.
i believe otto has fulfilled their financial commitment to the project with 1.4 million. they will still have a stake but will be diluted if oromin does another hole, unless they pony up but reading the NR it looks like they will not.
Pf will be on time in august and a majority of the first resource calc will translate to reserves..
on a personal note i feel we had a good washout today moving forward we have cash, a partner and 2.3 million ounces i think this will be the last time to get any cheapies!
caliche
patience is always good. should hve sold though when i was up 60% or so.
Caliche—–As Tony said , patience is always good………Yet , mine has about run out…I am a firm believer that ALL phone calls should be returned within 24 hours…Plus the fact that I also believe your name is most likely well known by most , if not all , at Ole headquarters……After all , you have been to every AGM for at least the last five years , you call them once a quarter , you stop by their office once or twice a year , you are a well known supporter of both the stock and mgmt , you have been part of their PP s before , you created a blog/chat room specifically for their investors and they have yet to return your call….The oil play just bombed out , there has been no news on the gold play for well over two months , the share price has tanked 40% in the last few days , and they are too busy to return your call within 24 hours….BULL $HIT….They really don’t seem to care about shareholders at all !!!! and my patience has worn thin , but then , I repeat myself…
True true Arlene. Couldn’t agree more.
A company is not its management alone. Its also its shareholders.
A company such as oromin with plenty cash and deposits should spend certain amounts of their budget to keep shareholders in the know.
How else do they expect to keep their longtime shareholders and attract new ones?
A management like this one hurts longtime shareholders which I think is not the way to treat people that have stuck with oromin through good and bad.
Thats just my 2 cents.
They’d better sorten their act out and start doing some real good PR if they want to survive in these markets.
Over 48 hours and counting……..Maybe they are just reluctant/afraid to talk with Caliche until they have better answers prepared…
I think they have their hands full rightr now guys and gals.
Keep thinking positive and all in the end will be just fine…………either way you look at it, we are looking at 1,20,25 and some more times your investment………..
I know we all wanted those incredible numbers and they still have a very good chance of coming in so be patient as I am sure the Offices are just as stunned as everyone else as they TRULY BELIEVE THERE IS OIL THERE
Dale—Appreciate your positive words/attitude…..However , it would be much easier to think positive if the mgmt would give us periodic news to be positive about….There is no reason/excuse , IMO , for there not to be newsworthy positive happenings in Senegal with five or six drills churning on a daily basis seven days a week…It has now been close to three months since their last NR on this project…It would also be helpful if they had someone knowledgeable return phone calls on a more timely basis..Even if the oil eventually hits , mgmt should have been better prepared to deal with some kind of share price “damage control” should the first attempt fail , as it so typically does…Thus far mgmt has had no positive comments on anything …and seemingly are not returning phone calls from long time investors….
Trust Me Arlene,
It is frustrating to me also. But. like you. I AM NOT SELLING MY SHARES 🙂
If we were all that unhappy, we would be selling ours shares and being out. So far, I have only heard of one that has sold to stay out.
Yep, It is not a good management style and I do not agree with it at all, BUT 🙂
Keep on trucking and enjoy the outcome!
I plan on stopping by the offices in Vancouver sometime between the 13th and the 16th while visiting the area from Arizona. I hope to be able to talk to someone that can fill me in on what is really the objective of this company.
I would also love to meet Caliche at this time as I understand he lives in the Vancouver area.
I am a holder of this stock. I love it, I hate it and I do not understand it at times, but yet I am sticking with it as it appears that the end is near. Celebration time when it does.
Best of times to all.
DWM
Dale—-The mgmt style that you disagree with is , IMO , morally wrong , ethically wrong , and quite possibly criminally wrong….Yes , I am holding my shares , not because I want to , but because I used bad judgement and got in over my head….For that , Ole is not responsible…But now I have to hold on and hope/wish for the best…BUT , I am not optimistic at this time..Anxiously await results of Caliche’s call which should have been answered long ago….Maybe he can give me a glimmer of hope…I , for one , certainly hope so…
All this talk about calling the office. Dave Scott is worthlless and the office has never
been much of an information source at all. Although SR was a “wildcat”, in the back
of my mind I thought that Dr. H. and there 15+ years studying the site would have
been worth something. Even if we didn’t hit a commercial find, I expected a technical
one, at least. But with no hydrocarbons detected whatsoever, Dr. H., this third party
out of Canada who supposedly did a “un-biased” analysis all really f’d up.
Management is worthless, gold is the only way out of this mess and with IMG onboard
now, I don’t think they can play all the games they used to. I am content with getting
bought out for a decent price and never dealing with Chet or Dave Scott again…

Goldn1—-Unfortunately , I am in agreement with you…..Just hope that “decent buyout” comes in the not too distant future….. By Q-1 ’10 ???? We could/should have a better feel for that come this Sept……PF (and price of gold year end) will have a big iimpact on just how decent it will be..
