.17). Mala Noche, which means bad night in Spanish, is almost a shell. It has an option to explore the Ventanas gold property in Mexico but it is on care and maintenance, and the company has made it clear it is planning to buy a near-term producing precious metals property. The company also may arrange a private placement. “As we review potential targets, we are simultaneously taking the steps necessary to enable the company to quickly access the capital markets, should the need arise,” says chief executive officer Wade Nesmith, who is also a director of Silver Wheaton Corp. ($17.15). Mala Noche’s president, Eduardo Luna, is also a Silver Wheaton director, formerly its chairman. He is a former executive vice-president of Goldcorp Inc. ($44.66), a former president of the Mexican Mining Chamber and the former president of the Silver Institute.
