Ana Paula, Newstrike’s Advanced Stage Exploration Project
ANA PAULA PROJECT
On June 24th, 2010, Newstrike acquired from Goldcorp’s Mexican subsidiary, DMSL, a 100% interest in four
claims totalling 7,622 hectares, situated in Guerrero State, Mexico, and known as the “Ana Paula” property. All
four claims are internal to Newstrike’s Aurea Norte Project. Prior to acquisition by Newstrike, between 2004
and 2008 Goldcorp conducted exploration programs on the Ana Paula property that included prospecting,
regional and detailed geologic mapping (1:1000, 1:5000, 1:10000), grid sampling, road building, stream
sediment, trench and road cut sampling, intrusion age-dating, airborne high resolution multispectral and ground
pole-dipole IP3D geophysical surveys, PIMA alteration mapping, structural interpretation, petrologic and
microprobe studies, and preliminary metallurgical testing.
The Ana Paula Property is underlain by a sedimentary sequence and stratigraphic boundary that is considered a
favourable locus for mineral deposition throughout the GGB. The sediments are intruded by a series of
granodiorite sills and a quartz monzonite stock at the intercept of a series of NE and north south trending faults.
Age dating and geochemistry completed on the granodiorite and quartz monzonite determined the intrusions
vary in age from 66.0 to 66.7 (+ 0.7 to 1.8) million years and are geochemically similar to other intrusions of
the GGB.
Exploration by Goldcorp has resulted in the discovery of a 1.0 km by 2.0 km wide area of gold mineralization at
surface. A roughly 400 metre by 600 metre portion of this mineralized area was drill tested in 2005 with a 3,689
meter, 11-hole diamond drill program that has confirmed the gold mineralization potential of the area and
confirmed the advanced stage of exploration of this project.
Newstrike completed a National Instrument 43-101 audit report on the Ana Paula project in the 2nd calendar
quarter of 2010. The report, titled “Geological Report and Summary of Field Examinations, Ana Paula Project,
Municipalities of Cuetzala del Progreso, Apaxtla del Castregon Guerrero State, México”, was contracted to Mr.
Robert Lunceford, MSc, CPG, an independent qualified person within the terms of NI 43-101. The Company
expects to submit the report to the Exchange by June 30, 2010.
The Company’s exploration activities are focused primarily on Ana Paula. Exploration plans include
completion of an audit sample and field verification program currently underway. A drill campaign is planned
for a 3rd calendar quarter start up. Actual drill start up is dependent on successful completion of surface access
negotiations which are in an advanced stage. Surface ownership of certain key areas of interest were previously
acquired by DMSL and, under the terms of the purchase agreement, Newstrike is provided access rights in
perpetuity to the surface rights held by DMSL. Drilling will be focused on delineating previous drill results with
step out drilling to extend the area of known mineralization.
